unsanitary house should i pay rent

i rent a room from my boyfreinds cousin. since ive moved in i had to clean up all their mess and im sick of it last month the bathroom ceiling fell and i had to clean the unsanitary water that fell from upstairs toilet. i cannot go to the landlord because they never told them i was living there so ive been going my boyfreinds cousin he hasnt done anything about it i didnt pay rent this month and now he wants me out tomorrow i feel i shouldnt have to leave because i have done nothing wrong , can you help me should i pay rent or should i stick my ground

Bottomline...you are not on the lease agreement....the tenants can ask you to leave anytime they please, for any reason...you are just giving them a good one for not paying rent.

You have no ground to stick to here. You are not on the lease, the landlord does not know you are there - you are there illegally. The landlord could evict you right now and your bf's cousin too, for having you there.

As far as the unsanitary conditions - call the Health Department.
