Tenants rights during foreclosure

Hello there, I'm in the city of Hayward California. I would like to know what rights I have now that I have found out that the place in which I am renting is up for foreclosure. Come to find out also the place is also an illegal dwelling. The landlord new all of this before renting the place out to us. The (foreclosure;and illegality of unit).

Depends on what you want to do. Once the foreclosure is complete, you will have to get out. Any lease you have is voided. Given the circumstances, you should be able to break the lease if you can find someplace now.
