subtenanats cheque bounced

Is bouncing of cheque by the subtenant a criminal offence?can igo ahead and file a police case?please guide me thrgh this becs i hav never been into any legal thing before?

Bouncing a check just in itself, may not be criminal. Did you try to resubmit? What does the tenant say? Have you given them a chance to replace the check, maybe with a money order?

Hii,
He just keeps on saying that i'll send another one but now i am doubting him? i'll wait till monday .What is the best course of action?Can i involve police in this case?or what else wud be better?

How long as this been? When did you get the original check and how long has he been promising a replacement.

Pressing charges against him opens a very larger can of worms. If he's in jail how is he going to pay?

Yeah i got the original cheque when i gave my apartment to him thats on 2nd.His cheque bounced on 8 th .he's been promising a replacement since last two weeks.

Ok, I would tell him if You don't receive a money order for what he owes by the end of the month then you will start eviction proceedings.
