Signed lease in FL, Can't move in, 3 day grace period?
I signed a lease 3 days ago, but now I can't move... Is there a 3 day period on leases like there is on purchases of RE?

IF not, what is reasonable charge for "breaking the lease" in this case. I have not touched the unit, it is ready for the next tenant immediately.

Before me, it sat empty a month or two... can they charge me rent until they find a tenant?

There is no 3 day period unless it is written into the lease. The 3 day period is often confused with salesmen that come to your home, where a period is often allowed by state laws.

And there is no "reasonable" charge for the renter, it will be protected by the owner of the property. You will be liable for all rent until they rent it again. So until another tenant moves in, you will be paying the rent.

This is why it is so very important to be sure before you sign.

Read your lease. There is most likely a clause just for that. And depending upon the circumstances, you may be able to walk away without a major financial hit. Talk to the agent as soon as possible. Also, try to find out how many other units may be open... the lesser the impact, the easier it may be for all parties invovlved.

    Good luck!
