Is there a 60 day notice
I'm forced to go month to month because I did not give my land lord a 30 day notice. But now that I'm month to month the lease says 60 days notice. So now I'm trapped here for 2 months. I read some where that the notice time can be no longer than the time between payments which for me is 30 days. What do you guys and gals think

Thanks for your time and answeres

First, if you are on month to month then you aren't undfr a lease. If the notiuce required was 30 days under the lease, then it remains at 30 days now that you are month to month.

Check the laws for your state. Generally, a month to month tenant is required to give notice equal to the rental period. But that's not absolute. The laws vary from area to area.

The general law for a month-to-month tenant is that you must give written notice equal to the frequency with which you pay rent.

BUT... if you had a written lease before becoming month-to-month then the terms and conditions of that written lease still apply. So if the lease provided for 60 days notice then you must still give 60 days notice.
