breaking a lease to purchase option

I am in a third 6 month lease to purchase option to purchase my home . My circumstances have changed and I now do not wish to sell . Can I legally cancel a lease to purchase option in texas.

no, unless your contract gives you a reason to break it, But if not, you have to honor, thus the reason for the contract to protect each persons rights.

Do you have any reason to believe that they will come through with buying it within this 6 month period, when they haven't the previous two times? Can't you just wait them out, or do you want them out of the house now? If you can wait them out, then just don't renew the option.

Are they in default on the lease in any way? It's still a lease - first and foremost. If they are in default of the lease you could act on that, and every option contract I've ever seen states that if the lease is broken that cancels the option contract. Does your say that?

Or you could offer to buy them out of the contract. Just make sure that any agreements are in writing.
