I made an offer yesterday, and my seller died today. What happens now?

Did he/she accept your offer before kicking the bucket?

If so, you appear to have a contract with a decedent's estate. It might take a while for the family of the dead person to figure things out, but after giving them a decent period of time to will want to contact them (the personal representative, actually) to determine how soon closing might occur.

If no acceptance was done, you might want to also find out who the personal representative (executor) will be and re-submit the offer to him/her.

No. It was just submitted. I know the son had power of attorney but it's my understanding that that means nothing. I know that the person had the place pretty much paid off. Id on't know if that will help at all.

You are correct. A POA doesn't survive death.

So contact the son (who may also be the PR) and re-submit.

Personal representative, a/k/a executor (or executrix if female). The person appointed by the probate court to administer a decedent's estate.
