lease and deposit laws

Jan.2009 my girlfriend and i rented a house and both of use signed 6 month lease. With a 1300$ deposit. when it came time 2 renew lease I happened 2 be working out of town and we were fighting also; so when i ask her about lease ssshe said it was fine land lord extened lease 4 us. ok i thought!! Well 3 days ago she moved out, so i was planning 2 stay till lease expires in Dec so i can get back the deposit and not have any problems with this hurting my credit...But today she tells me that landlord wants me to move out also. Icalled him two see what weas up and he said "" iI CANT GIVE HER THE DEPOSIT BACK TILL I MOVE OUT"" HE TELLS ME that she had CHANGED and sighed that lease with her name only and that He used the depoist from our lease and transferred it to her lease. CAN THAT BE DONE ? WITH OUT ME SIGHING THAT I AGREE TO DO THIS?

Second, you ask the landlord, if you can sign a new lease. If not, tell him you will move out as soon as you can find a new place. You then tell him that he needs to pay you your share of the deposit directly because your roommate didn't. And if he doesn't you will file suit against him and your roommate for the return of your share.
