The house we live in is being forclosed on and the landlord has known about the probablity of this happening since 2002. That was when they signed a document saying that they will pay a certain amount by september of 2007. They havent paid anything on it and now the house is going to forclosured. We moved back to NY from KY because my husband is stationed up at fort drum now and we are living in Elmira Ny about 3 hours away from Fort Drum, and I dont know what we are suppose to do about it. We signed the lease in June of 2007 and the landlord knew about the whole foreclosure situation but didnt say one word about it to us. We have 3 kids and are now in danger of not having a place to live, but I guess my question is, What are my rights and when we signed the lease were they suppose to tell us about it and can we sue them for moving expenses and for all the renovations we did to the house and for the rent we have been paying since June 2007, I am asking all this because since we signed a lease is it null and void because the house was rented to us under false pretenses that we would be able to live here. I am just not sure what to do so if anyone can help me even just a little it would be greatly appreciated.
