ex locked me out Texas

ex locked me out Texas

Thank you for the responses...want to be clear...I am an occupant on the lease but the lease is in his name. I received no notice. How could the complex have done this without my permission? Are they obligated to give me a key or can I call a locksmith?

Do neither. Call the police. As long as you are listed as an occupant on the lease then they do not have the right to lock you out. The police will force your ex (or the landlord) to let you enter and give you a key. Be prepared to show the police a copy of the lease as soon as you get inside. And as soon as you have access then I suggest you start packing your things and make arrangements to move.
