eviction of family members

Hi my mother has an apartment with only her name on the lease , problem my sister and niece who are both grown have move in with her ,can I have them remove/evicted without my mothers consent or do I need to talk with the landlord or do I need my mothers consent to do this. please help me with this problem if you can ,also neither one of them is helping with the rent or buying food or anything else for the apartment. thank you pat

You are not on the lease then NO you can't do a thing. The landlord will probably evict all in the unit your mother included as she violated the lease.

Wait a minute, the lease may permit the mother to include roommates or live-in guests. The trouble here is your mom is the power as lease holder and you are not. Why isn't your mom in the picture about it?

Ok, if the lease is specific as to the number of people who can live in the apartment, you may contact them ( but it can also get your mom evicted also for violation of the lease, or they could charge her extra for them living there)

In all reality, it is your mom that has to tell them to leave, unless she wants them to, there is little you can or really should do.
