Does my landlord have a right to insult and be rude to a tenent?

Asked Oct 2, 2009, 02:37 PM — 2 Answers
My landlord is incredibly rude when she explains things to me. For example, I had garage sale stuff on my porch, and she gave me a warning to clean it up. I did. Months later, another tenent left trash and clothing all over the yard and parking area, she said we were "all pigs trying to make the place a ghetto, and she should just evict us." I am wondering if she is allowed to say such things.

Hello evar:

She IS. You're free to move.

Being rude is not illegal (thank god! ). There may be instances where the rudeness might cross the line to harassment or defamation. But I don't see that so far.

I would be looking for a new place when the lease expires.
