    Deed name vs mortgage name
I already own the house and would like to re-fi/ mortgage to make repairs. My name alone is on the deed, my partner will be on the re-fi/mortgage with me because the rates will be much lower, does, by law his name have to go on the deed?

Normally no, it is the other way, his name on deed and not on mortgage that is more the issues. If the mortgage company does not have a company policy then it will be no problem.
