Deceased

My father is deceased. He has a home with a mortgage. He did not have a will. The property is only in his name. There is six children. All children appointed an executor to handle his affairs. There has not been any legal papers drawn up as of yet. Not sure what should be done in order to sell this property. The value of the property is approximately 50,000.00 and the mortgage balance is 49,000.00. What needs to be done to sell this property to avoid foreclosure.

The executor should be finding out what to do. Has a lawyer been contacted?

The executor sells the house, he hires a real esate agent, lists it and so on.
Now if there is only 1000 dollars equity in the home, is there other money or property in the estate ?

It may actually be easier to let it foreclose, and close out the estate if there is no other money there.
