Cosigners on rental agreements

My grandmother cosinged my lease in January of 03 and since then I signed a new lease because my rent went up and she did not sign. Is she still responsable?

No, not if you signed a new lease instead of a renewal. The new lease stands on its own.

If you signed something, you should get a copy of what you signed. If the landlord amended the payment then you had to initial it at the least to make it legal. For your grandmother to still be liable you would both have had to initial it.

What State? Did you sign/initial the new lease? Or is this a State where renewal is automatic unless changed/cancelled in writing and you agreed verbally on a new rental amount?

I say she's not liable -
