Con edison sues landlord

Can con edison sue me as a new york city landlord for utility bill not paid by a tenant?

I'm no lawyer, but it seems to me that they would be able to sue whoever's name is on the account. Who does Con Ed send the bill to - you, or your tenant? If they have your name on the account, then I guess you're responsible.

i rented apartment to my son which has my same name. but the bill for that apartment was under him.
