Can two people move into an apartment and only one sign a lease
My fiancé and I are looking to move in together, however my credit is shot!(college living lol) and his is great. We've been pretty bummed because all of the places we've like are unlikely because I have a "collections" on my credit. Even when I explain I am in the process of paying it off, I'm still denied. His income makes more than the required 3 times the rent and I make at least 2.5 times it. So paying rent would not be a problem. He wants to just apply for our desired apartment alone and wants me to still live there. We want to know if it's "legal". I know people say, if I'm not on the lease and we break up I would have to leave, but that it VERY UNLIKELY seeing as how we have been together since the 8th grade and lived together for 6 months already.

    Hello mrs:

It's perfectly legal as long as the lease allows him to sublet. That's not an unusual inclusion at all.
