Hello Magic:

You might, but not while you're on probation.

Well, I research a little. In State of CA a convicted felon must disclose such crimes on their application with the Dept of Real Estate - they use form APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION (RE222) to disclose the info to the Dept. On the form it lists the criteria that a license SHOULD NOT be issued under , time frame required since the last convicted crime and then also how a applicant can challenge that denial decision. It is a process - but I assume that if one is truly interested in pursuing, be mentally limber enough to jump thru the hoops required and don't squiel!
