"What Makes Me A Chinese" - What makes anyone a Chinese or Mexican or Caucasian? It comes from our genetics, our DNA. That is a biological point that cannot be refuted. What other components are involved? What about your culture? Your family traditions? Your family's social values and principles and standards? What about language? What province did your families originate from? How do you honor your ancestors? Are there specific ceremonies and celebrations?

I do not know if this helps you but at least you have some questions to ask yourself. Good luck.

Did your family contribute to the history of your country? For example, did your father or grandfathers fight in the military? What connects you with China? What would have to disappear in China for it not to feel like home to you? This is what makes you Chinese. Just like there are many things here in Canada and in my family's history that make me Canadian.
