the future is not set in stone

a 6.7 quake hits san Fernando valley July 4rth 2004, at 1:11 am leading local celebrations of the america fourth of july to be canceled.

a 10.5 quake hits 65 miles north of Tokyo April 24rth, 2006 at 4:13 am, stretching about 8 miles in each direction along that fault line. The earthquake will devistate Tokyo, and most of the infrastructure within the islands of the nation since that quake is beyond anything anticipated. It will cause significant damages in the countries surrounding that region. As well the quake will cause a tsunami that will hit Hawaii, and the western shores of the united states, mostly in Washington, Oregon, and northern California (This tsunami will cause mostly structural damages as those areas will be evacuated of people before the wave hits, except for an island in the eastern side of indonesia that is outside of the Early Tsunami warning network that will have numerous deaths).

Worst case scenarios: (Dependent upon the Japanese governments reaction to knowledge of the quake. A strong reaction on their part will limit the follow escillation)

Worst possible case: The Japanese will do nothing to react to various warnings, resulting in millions of deaths on the island (3,157,000), and the near total destruction of the infrastructure, leaving Japan totally dependent upon their allies for aid, especially the united states who will send in troops to help in the rescue efforts (stretching their military dangeriously thin). Those surviving the quake will find themselves starving to death due to the overwealming damage in the region, and a slow international response to the region.

Though the quake will cause significant deaths, and damage to the infrastructure, far worse is its affect at totally destabilizing that entire region of the globe. Nations that heavily invested in the Japanese economy will suddenly find their money non existent. Civil unrest and rioting in the streets will occur in numerous countries, the two most important of which being Taiwan and South Korea. North korea, arrogant with its nuclear weapons, will think america’s military resources are stretched too thin (with the unrest in iraq, and the Japanese distaster) to defend its ally south korea, and will invade the damaged country, sweeping quickly south in the chaos left by the quake. Its nuclear weapons will be moved into the south by truck, and hidden in several cities, stating that it will detonate them (killing the civilian populace) if America attempts a counter attack.

America begins tranfering troops from iraq, moving them to deal with the north korean invasion. China will follow North Korea’s lead, and begin moving troops west to stage the invasion of Taiwan. Civil wars will break out in indonesia, the Philippines, and thailand. Islamic insurgents in the middle east, watching the chaos breaking out in the east will increase their efforts to overthrow the Iraqi parliament with the large transfer of the American forces east. (Eventually all American troops will be withdrawl to the Japanese sea, and a brief Coop de tat will lead a general of their army to control that country for several weeks before it is invaded by iran to “stabilize” that country). America, fearing the Chinese invasion of Taiwan (as well as troop movements suggesting their assistance with north korea, and a possible invasion of Japan) and desparate to end the de-stabilization will get presidential authority to use nuclear weapons to send a message (mostly to china) to “prevent” further escillation in that region. Avoiding the Congressional safeguards (due to the fact that tensions never ended between north and south korea, and America was still technically at war with the nation) and fearing a war with China, President bush orders the bombing of key locations within north korea, which will retaliate by setting off several crude nuclear bombs within the South (including one destroying Soeul which was recovering from the quake). America moves its forces to protect the island of taiwain, begins to stage the invasion of south korea. China argues that taiwain is still part of its nation, and that Americas actions will lead to war. Tiawain begs for United Nation intervention, who are struggling to aid the Japanese. Diplomacy breaks down and china moves to invade taiwain, sinking several US Navy craft that have moved between island and the mainland. The united states and China both declare war, china launching a full out attack on taiwain, and the US personel protecting the island (The USS Nimitz is sunk). Marines invade south korea and begin pushing north, the United States air force begins bombing North Korea. The navy is taking heavy loses against the Chinese, the president orders the use of tactical nuclear weapons to slow down the onslaught. The Chinese retaliate by launching several unknown versons of intercontinental nuclear missles with sufficient range to hit the west coast. Hawaii, San Fransisco, and Los Angeles are destroyed. The president orders the wide spread nuclear bombing of targets in China. Bejing is detroyed, the chinese leadership escapes the holocaust. WW III begins. Uprisings break out in the Middle East, south America, eastern Europe, africa, usually in small "local" squirmishes involving rebels fighting national militia's, which evolve into numerous Coupe De Tat's and civil wars as anyone with a grievance, or any desire to sieze power does so since "global babysiters" are busy with their own apocalyses to stop violence in the rest of the world. I dont know what happens beyond that.

I assure you these quakes will occur. I assure you that the Japanese economy will collapse unless steps are taken to prevent it, which will lead to this horrible war. I assure you that the war does not have to happen. It can be avoided. The spark that sets off the powder keg can be avoided. Only through the efforts of the those that desire peace can we avoid billions of deaths.
