HP 950 All in one printer

I am using an HP psc 950 All in One printer. My problem has to do with the scanning function. Most of the time I can't get the printer to scan a document. I've tried everything. All I get is a "Warming up" message on the printer viewer then nothing. All the other functions work OK. The bulb lights up so it's not faulty. I've tried rebooting, disconnecting the power cord, reinstalling the software, updating the driver, and changing the power source. I've run out of ideas. Can anyone suggest other solutions? Thank you. Carole
