what is this sharp pain

Ok so as of last Monday I was 3 cm and 50 effaced and have been contracting for the past two weeks.
But today I have a really sharp pain in my lower abdomen when I walk, it almost knocks me down.
I'm worried that I may dialate fast being this is my third time around and I am an hour away from the hospital.
COuld this be the baby moving further down and my cervix dialating and opening more?
Thanks

Please call your Dr. and go get it checked out.
Why risk your health and the health of your baby.

I know you said it was in your lower abdomen, how low?? It couldn't possibly be appendicitis could it? When i had it, it was worse when I stood up.

Crystal,

Most likely it is the hormone called Relaxin relaxing your cervix. You should however, contact your doctor to be sure he does not want to see you.
