Period is 1 week late and I got a NEGATIVE Hpt?
Hi. My last period was on Jan 25th, 2008 and I believe I ovulated around Feb 10-11th. (My husband and I are trying to get pregnant for our 1st) My period is now 1 week late. I did a First Response test this morning and it came back negative. My cycle is 31 days and I am not usually late with my periods - latest has been 1-3 days at the most. I was on birth control for 8 months and got off of it in July 07'. Could this have been what is known as a "false negative?" Should I re-test again in a week or so? Please help! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'd wait another week and see what happens. Period may just be late....if still a no show, try another test. Sometimes a pregnancy doesn't show up for several weeks. Good luck!

Well hopefully this will give you some hope...My last period was Jan. 21, 2008. When my period did not show up on time I took a pregnancy test...negative, after two more negatives I just figured I wasn't pregnant. On day 11 with still no period I took a first response test and got a very very faint posotive line! I then called my doctor and got a blood test that confirmed I was pregnant. There is definetely a possibility that you got a false negative...if you can try and wait a few days and make sure you use first morning urine! Good luck and keep us updated

I am currently 19 days late w/ my period. I tested this morning and again, another negative. So far I have tested twice. Still no sign of my period coming. This is frustrating.

Has anyone else had an experience like mine? Is it possible to be pregnant being almost 20 days late? (I hope so!!)

Some thoughts ...

Since you are normally quite regular, I would ask your doctor about having a blood test done. I've known women who had it take about 6 weeks before a urine test picked it up. Could also be that you will just skip a period this cycle....happens sometimes. Certainly if you are having any other early pregnancy symptoms, give your doctor a call to find out for sure.
