i seem to have this undying hunger. i am about 3 months along, and i am hungry every minute of the day. it's very upsetting, because i'm always hungry, but the thought of food makes me ill right now. there are only 2 things that i can eat without getting sick. any advice? i know this will pass, but the hunger pains hurt and then become headaches as time passes. i know i am being silly to complain about this, but i'm just worried that i'm not getting enough food in me for the baby. makes a mom-to-be worry.
I know exactly how you feel. I had that for the first 3 1/2 months this time and for the first 5 months with my first. Mainly, make sure that you do eat. If you dont eat, like you said you get the headaches, and you just get sicker. Even if you dont feel like eatting, try. Crackers are good. Also something that I found that helped was those yogurt drinks. They are next to the yogurt and they are just lil drinks, they come in all different flavors. like strawberry, and banana, and raspberry and so forth. These were really good when I was starting to get on the verge of being headachey and too sick to eat. They were easy on the stomach, yet have some good sustinence to it, so you can get enough in your stomach to maybe eat more. Also eatting dry cereal helped. like cherrios and fruitloops. drinking milk and water, and juice as j9 said helps too. fruit like pears and apples help too. basically the best thing I could do was just to snack all day long. Not stuffing myself, but just eatting small amount all through the day. make sure you rest while eatting, and rest for 15 minutes after eatting. I found if i tried to move around and do too much right after, or before/while eatting, I would end up losing it all. just find what works for you, and keep it up. It gets old real fast, I know, but it will be over soon. Whatever you can eat, eat it. As long as you are taking your prenatal, and eatting whta you can, your baby will be fine.its not silly to worry about how much you are eatting and the well being of your baby. I was so worried about this and my small amount of weight gain with my first. but when the doctors kept reasuring me i was fine, ad sure enough, the morning sickness passed, and I could eat. You gain most of the weight in the middle of your second tri till the end of the pregnnacy. The baby will take what it needs from mommy. Its mommy that ends up not feeling so great. haha. dont worry, you are doing great. just keep it up.
every time i drink juice, orange, apple, grape, doesn't matter, i get sick. i've been drinking about 5 water bottles a day (the 20 oz kind) because i seem to have an undying thirst as well. i can eat saltine crackers, so i have been eating those for a snack... but it's almost like eating ice chips, its doesn't help the hunger, just helps the tummy settle down a tad. i have been craving mac-n-cheese (no clue way) so i eat that every once in a while and keep that down. other then that, i try sandwiches... but those don't always stay down. i have been having the same problem with soup lately. thank you so much for your help. any advice at all is welcomed.
good job on drinking all that water! like i said eatting whatever you can is all you can do. try some of those suggestions, see if those dont help. I lived off of pancakes milkshakes, and mac and cheese for those first few months hah. (also, if you throw up, try eatting saltines right after you do. I know its the last thing you want to do at the time, but it will help keep you from the inevitable hunger shock that comes later )
nope. I ate it every day for the first few months. then i couldnt stand it and it made me sick, haha, but that is about when I would get a different food I could eat.
hi kholloway just eat what u fancy, as long as it is kinda of a balanced diet it shouldnt matter becuase as long as u can keep it down that will be better for u than eating something that makes u sick then u just feel ill and hungery, but continue eating plenty of fluid so that it keeps u hydrated, good luck with whatever u try hope u find a cure x
try beef jerky. they say that carbs will upset your tummy more and that protein is going to calm it down to where you can keep other things down as well... it worked for me with my twins. it's worth a try.
