Spotting 2 days before period due
Hi all, okay first off I AM on the pill. Me and my boyfriend have sex and do not use a condom but I faithfully take the pill at the same time each day and have not missed one. I am due for my period sometime after tomorrow into the next week but I experienced a little bit of dark blood on my underwear yesterday. It is gone now and I am waiting for my period to hopefully start. What do you think this is and could it be a sign that maybe I am pregnant? Your advice would be greatly appreciated as soon as possible. Thanks :o

It might be nothing. If this is your first time taking BC, u could just be spotting before you start your period. Some women experience little bleeding when first time taking BC

It is probably the period just showing a bit early. Sometimes it just acts a little funny. But to answer your question, it is possible to be pregnant, but I wouldn't necessarily call this a sign that you are... few women bleed when pregnant.. I conceived on the pill and took it religiously, and so did others I know... unfortunately there is no BC out there that is 100% effective. I suggest from now on, if you wish not to be pregnant, to double up with a condom just to be safe... not saying this will prevent pregnancy either, but it would be pretty daggone hard to conceive... good luck.

I believe this is normal. I have done the same thing. I started spotting, so I thought I was in the beginning of my period, but then it went away. I was like "what the heck". But then my real period came a day later. Like sacha said, it is probably due to the birth control pill. The hormones in birth control can make your body go all wacky. Next time you are at the doctor, you can always ask him if this is normal. I don't think I would make a special appointment for this :)

I am living proof that birth control pills are not 100% effective. I took my pills every night and never missed one. Yet, here I am 10 weeks pregnant. If you really don't want to be pregnant you better start doubling up on the birth control methods. Use a condom anyway just to be on the safe side. No form of birth control is 100% effective. My husband said he is going to get a shirt made that says "I am in the 1% club" since we got pregnant on BCP. (He is proud of himself and thinks he has super sperm).
As for your early bleeding. Many women on birth control pills have break through bleeding from time to time. The pills can make your body do crazy things. Just wait it out and see what happens. I am sure everything is okay.
