so, you say he is 4 1/2 MONTHS old or years? If he's 4 1/2 months then he is just being a baby. You just have a difficult baby on your hands. Things will eventually get better. Just make sure you are giving him enough attention and not ignoring his quieter cries.

you should try this... when he is having his temper get down to his level and tell him what he is doing rong and give him a worrning.... if that does not work find a place in the home that no one can bother him and give him a time out and tell him why he is getting a time out... and for 4 minutes because that is how old he is ever (1 year = 1 min.) then you would go to him and exsplane agean what he did rong and ask him to say sorry... and that should help and keep on doing it and it could help

will i hope this helps you out good luck ;-)

Well, Mom, he's learned how to manipulate you. Believe it or not, babies can do that as young as 4 1/2 MONTHS old.

You will just have to let him cry it out. Let him have his temper tantrum and not respond. Now, keep an eye on him, make sure he can't get hurt, but ignore the behavior. You are the one in control and you must teach him that.

My younger brother, as a baby under a year old, would have tantrums and even pound his head against the tile or wooden floor until his forehead was bruised. My mother put him in a safe place, like a playpen, and let him cry it out while she stayed nearby and did housework. The tantrums got to be less terrible, and by age four he had outgrown them. My mother once said to him when he was older and thought his tantrums as a child were funny, "I hope you have a child just like you have been, so you understand what I've been through." And sure enough, he did.

If ignoring him hasn't worked, be creative and try things to get him back to normal, like singing songs to him (belt out a C&W or R&B song) or tell him a story about how the animals had a picnic and be sure to add animal sounds to jazz it up or move him around from one safe place to another. Go to your public library and find childcare books on dealing with difficult babies and how to deal with tantrums. The books will be 649.1 or thereabouts. Ask for help finding them if necessary.
