are you taking your prenatal vitamines? there should be folic acid in the vitamines if you are taking a good one.

600-1000 mcg of folic acid is good during preganncy to help prevent birth defects. your prenatal vitamines should have this much. but if it does not, you can take a suppliment

Folic acid, jemryan, is the B vitamin which aids in the cellular development of your unborn fetus. Folic acid doesnt help you get pregnant. It is for the baby'
s development, mentally and physically, so you can take as soon as you find out you are pregnant.

Folic acid is good for if you are pregnant, not pregnant, or trying to get pregnant. Go ahead and take it.
As the others said it is a B vitamin and included in prenatal vitamins.

if your trying to get pregnant folic acid is a good thing to take. take only 400 mcgs before you are pregnant however.

Definitely start taking it while you are trying to get pregnant. One of the benefits is to help prevent birth defects that occur very early in pregnancy....sometimes before you may even know you are pregnant. This is why it is suggested that all women of childbearing age, and certainly those actually trying to become pregnant, should make sure they get adequate amounts.

Many foods and drinks are now fortified with folic acid as well.

ang8318 agrees: totally agree. If I am not on birth control I am taking prenatals...pregnant or not just in case.
LearningAsIGo agrees: I totally agree. Folic Acid should be in your system BEFORE pregnancy

I'd wait and see what happens in July.....if you don't have a period by the end of the second week, try a test at that time.
