I know this will sound odd to all of you but my husband is in prison and I desperately want to conceive. If he is given a condom to use, how long will the sperm last in the condom for me to try and inseminate myself. I know what you guys are thinking...crazy but all I want to know is how long the sperm will live. In case you guys are worried about the well being of my future child, don't be. I am financially very well off and my husband is in prison for a crime he did NOT commit; I love him. We do not want to wait to conceive. Thank you for your comments.
Thanks bivens, i won't! Dr. J, I have not asked authorities...i'm afraid if I do they will be more strict with our visits. I've googled and research and can not find much on the subject...
thats very true you need to come up with a good plan before attempting or they may ban you from even visiting him.
When you visit with him is it behind glass or can you actually touch him?
Dolly, If this is something you want to do then do it. I just wished there was an easier way for you. I was not being judgemental at all. I was answering your question to the best of my knowledge and trying to help you out at the same time.
Please do let us know how it works. I wished there was an easier way for you that is all. Best of luck and God bless you too.
Article 12 of the Convention guarantees the right to marry and found a family: a refusal by the Prison Department to allow you to marry or to start a family by artificial insemination could be challenged under this article.
the info is out there and apparently prisons have allowed for this (artificially, of course)
dollygal: I hope you take this in the spirit in which it is meant.
Your baby deserves a mom and a dad. Although your husband may be innocent, it doesn't mean he will get out any time soon. In Virginia, an innoncent man was recently released - he served 23 years for a rape he didn't commit.
Please think of the psychological issues for your child if you decide to do this. Your husband won't be able to share the pregnancy or first smile or first day of school if he is still locked up. Your child may be treated differently by his peers (or more likely friend's parents) if and when they find out dad is in prison. Children can be cruel and some parents are just plain jerks.
I am not judging. I just feel like you are cheating both your husband and yet-to-be-conceived child of a relationship with each other.
Emland has some really great points as well dollygal; but I do,however, understand that your choices are limited and if I were in your situation I would be doing the same thing as you. Good luck!
like drjizzle posted earlier... have him masterbate into a pee cup and how to get it in... uhhh take it to a doctor that can probably use a syringe (w/o the needle of course) and inject into you vajayjay... anything like a eye dropper sort may work... but it has to big. i think you can get a syringe like thingy for cooking and take off the needle.... idk what its called or used for. well best of luck. hope i helped.
