    Pregnant with mirena?
I have had the mirena IUD for about a year and a half I haven't had a period for some time now (which is why I decided on that form of BC) I already have a 2 1/2 year old sone. Lately however I have been having some of the same symptoms as when I was pregnant before.. Tender breast, terrible taste, very very sleepy, nausea, head aches. I haven't taken a test yet because I didn't think I could actually get pregnant. I was just wondering if anybody else has gotten pregnant while using mirena and if so what were your symptoms.. I would appreciate any help.. Thanks

I have had two friends to get pregnant on Birth Control... not Mirena, however. It is possible to get pregnant when on birth control. I would take a test to make sure that you weren't pregnant and if you are then I would definitely go to the doctor to make sure that the pregnancy was not ectopic. Good Luck.

Mirena has a 99.9% effectiveness in preventing pregnancy. Now of course that leave .01% that you could get pregnant... but very unlikely.

I would venture to say you are experiencing PMS symptoms, which can still occur with no actual period at all.

I had these same symptoms on Mirena out of nowhere last month after everything being normal for a year. But test came back negative and the symptoms went away after a bit. Doc said the Mirena may have shifted.
