As you already know, there is no form of birth control that is 100% effective. If you are not ready for pregnancy you may want to consider using the condom along with the ring.

my husband cant use them. its kind of hard to explain he is allergic to all of the kinds we have used he gets a really bad rash that is why we keep trying different kinds of birth control so that we can find the most effective

Ah, a latex allergy?

Unfortunately there is nothing that is 100% effective besides abstinence, and you already know that. Have you tried spermicidal foams or inserts?

A very close friend of mine used the ring for I think about a year with regular sex, no other protection, and no pregnancies. Then one month she was having a "girl parts" procedure and couldn't use it for the month. She got pregnant THAT month!

As J_9 says there is nothing that is 100% except abstinence, but obviously you are an adult in an adult relationship and that's not an option for you! I would look into her suggestions of foams and so on if you really REALLY don't want to get pregnant. If those aren't an option for some reason, you might be able to try the "rhythm method" in addition to the ring but I don't know if the use of birth control makes it less effective. If all else fails, you might just have to rely on the statistics for the ring..... good luck.
