More than likey you are pregnant. The pregnancy test detects a certain horomone your body produces when you are pregnant and ONLY when you are pregnant. The waiting period to take the test is to assure that your body has had enough time to produce the horomone and more to make sure you do not get a negative result if you are. You can retest in a week if still not sure but I would suggest going to an actual clinic or doctor to do so.

Ok first 11 days before your period would not give your body enough time to produce the hcg hormone that pregnancy tests look for so chances are that it's a false neg. I would say retest at least the first day of your missed period. If you get a neg the wait 7 to 10 days after that and test again. If it is still neg then your not pregnant unless it's some fluke. I would like to know about your cycles and when you had sex so that I can better guesstimate this answer and help to calculate out if i'm being totally honest with ya. So if you can give me a bit more info I can help alot more. Some of the questions I have are: How old are you? It has an effect on your hormones. How long before your period was due did you have unprotected sex? When is your next period due? And finally have you missed a period yet? If you could answer all this it would help us help you alot better.

Myth she said that she took the test and it was pos. not negative..... So more than likely she is pregnant because the horomone is present.

I would agree with that statement but my problem with it is that it hasn't been long enough for the hormone levels to meet even the lowest hpt testing level unless she has already missed a period. I need more informations to make an appropriate answer. If I knew when the op's lmp was I could help more. Until I know that info I'm not willing to say that it isn't a false positive.

This one can really go either way. As we know every woman's body is different. Typically 11 days prior to menstruation is too early to test and it very well could be a false positive, due to the fact that this is an average of when a woman is ovulating. However, if she got pregnant immediately after her last period it is possible that this is a ture positive.

The only way now to really tell is to have a blood test drawn to either confirm or deny the results of the HPT.

did the pos result show up within ten mins or was it a while later? You can get evaporation lines which can look like pos results if you read the test after too long. If you got the pos within the ten mins or so, then you are most lilkely pregnant, so I would suggest taking another test to rule out a faulty test, and if you get another pos, congratulations!

Well i must agree that if it says positive ...it will generally mean you are pregnant. As long as you didnt read the test after too long (as sqiffy says).

My guess it that you are pregnant. Was your last period regular or just light spotting. Sometimes people mistake a light period as a period when it is spotting so you may actually not be testing 11days early but testing later. (if that makes sense). Was the line on the test a dark line? because if so it may confirm my theroy. Preg. tests pick up the HGC evls in your urie which are only produced by the body when you are pregnant.

Best thing to do is to go to you doctor to get a blood test done. These are very acurate

Best of Luck

Annabelle

I do believe that your body does produce the Hcg hormone during ovulation. I could be wrong but that is one of the reasons that the zygote actually has a chance to implant in the wall of the uterus.
