An epidural is commonly used for child birth labor pain (used to be called a saddle block). So you recently gave birth, you haven't had your period yet, and you gave yourself a home pregnancy test??

What a conundrum ! Big sigh!

There isn't much you can do until you miss your period. Some women build up enough HcG to register on a pregnancy test before they miss their period... but very few. Your back pain could be related to your upcoming period... or like me, ever since I had that stupid epidural my back hurts a lot. :P

You can take an antacid or drink milk to help relieve the heartburn and try soaking in a hot bath or use a heating pad to help reduce the back pain.

Then all you can really do, is wait until you are due for your period and see if you miss it and go from there.

Not giving the whole info is sort of like cutting yourself short if you want qualified information. So, the whole problem is the epidural you had two years ago when you had your son, right?
I can see this being an ongoing pain with some women who have a low tolerance. It sounds like you have something else going on in your life to make this an issue right now. If you want to talk about it here, no problem, we can help you sort it out.

Otherrwise macksmom gave some good advise for your other issues.

I have quite a high tolerance for pain actually, I got the epidural during early labor because I was 18 and scared... I actually refused the 2nd epidural and pushed without any medication. But ever since I had my epidural with my daughter (almost 6 years ago) I have a lot of back pain... not necessarily concentrated to the acutal injection sight though.

I have heard that it is more common than I thought.

But if you are having localized pain at the epidural site, I would get it checked out by your doctor.
