| | | late period, brown discharge.. could i be pregnant? I am 19 years old and I lost my virginity on december 10th. I had sex again on the 15th, and we used a condom on both occasions. Then on January 1st we fooled around without a condom, but he only penetrated once or twice, and didn't ejaculate inside me.
I was due for my period on January 2nd. Today is January 9th. Yesterday I started seeing a brown discharge.. I read somewhere that spotting brown or red can be a sign of early pregnancy.. but this doesn't look like blood. Could I be pregnant even though I used a condom? Or is the brown discharge a result of bleeding from the broken hymen? I do remember the first time being excruciatingly painful, so I wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with that.. ? Please help! I'm trying not to stress so as not to delay my period any longer, but I can't help it. I'm going to take a pregnancy test in the morning, but I would like to know what my odds are like for a positive result.
I was also told by a few friends of mine that they too experienced late periods after losing their virginity.. Is there a connection there? | | | | | | |

| I hope your test came back negative, please give us an update. Fooling around without a condom is never a good idea if you are not ready to be a mom. Preejaculate does contain some sperm, and althought the changes of getting pregnant are very slim, the chance is still there. |

| If you have sex for the first time, close enough to your period, it can be delayed, or bring it on sooner, from what I have been told. It has to do with your body dealing with the "trama" of the new expereince. But like I said, this is just what I have been told by friends and stuff too, so I am sure that someone with actual medical expereince can tellyou better then I. As far as you're chances of pregnany, You only used a condom the first two times, and the third time(even tho you dont think he went inside you at all) there is pre-ejaculate that (as jadedmom said) can contain sperm in it. Also if he had ejaculated previously that day, there could still be a chance of there being some left on him from that as well. Even when you use a condom there are chances of pregnancy, as it says right on the package. There could be a tiny tear, or it could slip or etc. They aren't 100 % accurate. No birth control is, tho it is definitely more accurate then nothing. Let us know what the test told you, and good luck. |

| Well, I took the pregnancy test this morning and it turned out negative... Then around noon today I got my period!!
I guess the brown discharge was a sign my body was ready to start..
And I suppose it is true what they say, that losing your virginity can throw off your cycle. Though I've found no basis for this in medical fact, I've heard it many times from friends.. and now experienced it myself.
Thank you to everyone that replied!! I appeciate it VERY much!! |

| Keep in mind that your body is still changing in many ways. (hormones) So your period, and the way it shows up, wont always be predictable. glad that everything is well, and you have your answer. good luck in your future. |
