You know I don't know what hsg stands for and i'm going to respond to this to bump it back up to the top so that someone who does might be able to answer you better than I can.

An hsg is a test to check for tubal blockage, Hysterosalpingogram. On average, most couples with no known problems who have sex around ovulation have about a 30% chance of pregnancy in any given month.

Assuming you had an hsg due to problems conceiving, your chances may still be less. You have eliminated one possible cause of lessened fertility, but don't mention other tests. Has your partner had a sperm analysis, have you had your hormones checked, do you chart your cycle, etc.

Also, the hcg may have interfered with conception, as the test itself could damage any egg that might have been in the fallopian tube,

How long does your period last? Are you charting your cycles at all?

I would like you to check out this site Ovulation Calendar and Ovulation Chart - FertilityFriend.com It will help you start charting so that you know more about your cycles. I think I would take a hpt test if when I missed my period and see what turns up. The only other thing you can do is have your dr do a blood test

Ok I really need you to get down right discriptive here. What kind of brown is it? Is it old blood brown?

Any time you have an invasive test, and injecting a foreign substance into your uterus and tubes is invasive, there is a chance your body will behave oddly that cycle. I personally wouldn't read too much into any spotting or discharge this cycle as it could just be a reaction to the hsg. Give your body a month to recover.
