Having sex the day before ovulation day
My husband & I are trying to conceive our first child. We work a lot so its harder to get time to try. My last menstrual was on the 5th of October and My calender for ovulation was set on the 17 I was supposed to ovulate. I also did the finger test, seemed I was ovulating. We had sex on the 16th which was one day before ovulation day. (: & now its time to wait but the waiting is killing me lol. My period is due on the 31. I was just wondering since I'm taking vitamins and folic acid supplements if it gives me a better chance? Also when can I expect implant bleeding? Does everyone have implant bleeding. Thanks(: I'm really happy and I gladly appreciate your input

The vitamins and folic acid certainly can be beneficial for a healthy pregnancy and baby, but they don't necessarily effect chances of conception. You are smart to be taking them while trying to conceive.

Odds of becoming pregnant each cycle are about 20%, even with good timing, so do keep that in mind if it takes awhile... :) Most couples will become pregnant within the first year of trying.

To increase your odds, next cycle start trying, if possible, several days before you suspect ovulation and right through to a couple of days after. Best chance of becoming pregnant is to have the sperm already present when the egg is released, but if you are off by even a day, it can make all the difference. Say for example you happened to ovulate on day 14, the sex on the 16th would be too late to catch it. The online calendars are a good place to start but some women do not follow the norm.

If you did happen to become pregnant this go round, implantation bleeding may happen roughly 6-14 days after ovulation (it is thought that the earlier implantation occurs the better chance of a successful pregnancy). Most women never see any spotting or bleeding however.

You are at the waiting stage, which is both exciting and frustrating with having to wait!

    Fingers crossed!
