Sex selection - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This tells you what you need to know. It states that there is no proof that anything outside the methods listed there are valid methods for sex selection, and so I don't believe that diet will have an effect.

Dont believe the wives tales you get what you get theres no way of deciding, but do remember the man's dna chooses the sex of the child so you are by no means responsable.

buggage agrees: yes, people tend to forget that its the guy's sperm that determines the sex of the baby.

I am afraid there is no perfect way to "create" the sex of your child. It is all up to mother nature as to which gender you get.

I am sure though that you will indeed be happy no matter the gender as long as that baby is alive and healthy.

The above answers are correct. To add to J_9's comment: all I needed to hear to feel relieved was the doctor announcing to the nurses "APGAR 9".

J_9 agrees: Oh, yes, hearing that APGAR is a wonderful feeling when it is a 9!!!

There are many tests and myths out there that say they can determine what you will have, or will help you decide the sex of your baby. My friends mother swears up and down by the "pencil test". Basically you have a pencil with a needle stuck in the eraser, and a thread attached to the needle. you then hold it above the vein in your wrist and depending on which way the needle twists, and how many times, it determines how many kids you will have, and which sexes they will be. She swears it worked for her every time. HAHA. She said I would have one boy and one girl. Well, I have one boy and i've got another boy on the way. She also said her daughter(my friend) would have a boy the first time around. When it was determined that she was having a girl, her mom swore up and down that she had had a miscarriage, and was NOW pregnant with a girl. She believed in the dumb test so much, that she refused to believe that it was wrong, and would rather pain her daughter by telling her she had a miscarriage, and just didn't know it. My point here is, don't listen to the old wives tales, and myths and promises that tell you that you can chose what sex of the baby you will have. chasing after these myths can be fun, but it can also lead to confusion and frustrations and loss of money.I'm afraid that only the sperm of your man and mother nature can determine this. Just take it as it comes, and whether you get a boy or girl, you will be happy with the outcome. Good luck and best wishes.(don't forget to let us know when you do get pregnant and find out the sex of the baby. we love hearing happy news here.)

Boys smell anyway, you don;t want one of those. lol. There's nothing you can do about it hun, so just think of the money you would save having another girl x

Oh, yes, boys smell !! LOL, but girls are more expensive, at least at my house. Prom dresses, make-up, clothes must be in style , sports (my girl is in track, swim team, and possibly, we'll find out today, cheerleading). Girls go shopping at the mall, etc.

My boys have all been less expensive than her, well so far, I still have a 5 year old boy, he's not expensive, YET!!!
