Have you done the usual of detemining when you are likely ovulating? Have you both had the various tests already? That would be the first step....actual blood work, a look in your fallopian tubes, a postcoital test to see how your body responds to the sperm, a sperm analysis for your husband? If you have had the usual fertility workup, what has your doctor said would be the next step?
If it has been determined through blood work that you are definiatly ovulating on a regular basis and hormone functions are fine, that your tubes are unblocked, that he has a good number of healthy sperm with a good sense of direction, then IUI would likely be the next step. Success rate varies, and often takes repeated attempts, but it is usually first because it is the easiest to do.

Certainly fertility starts to decline quite a bit into the 40's. It becomes less likely that pregnancy will happen without medical intervention. Make an appointment with an reproductive endocrinologist for testing (both you and your partner) if that hasn't already been done.
It is generally suggested that testing begin in women 35 and older who have been trying for as little as 6 months....the older you are, the sooner the testing should really begin.

TO SUPPERMANDI:try to check your basal body temp so you will know for sure if and when u ovulate 75% of pregnancies happen when woman keep track of this inner temp!
