I want to take back this answer. The information I posted is from a good medical textbook, but it is old and out of date on this question. Modern birth control pills have MUCH LOWER levels of hormones than they did in the 1970s. The Mayo Clinic says that birth control probably does NOT cause birth defects. I hope that Wonderfulbubbles talked to a doctor and got more recent information. I'm really sorry for worrying her unnecessarily. I was really surprised and shocked by what I read in this medical textbook on human developoment, and meant to give her good information.

J_9 agrees: Glad you recinded your previous answer. There is no concern with taking the pill in early pregnancy.

I wouldn't worry about it. I concieved while on birth control pills. I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks and that is when I stopped taking my birth control pills. I asked my doctor if there was any risk to the baby and she said it was nothing to be concerned about. People do get pregnant while on birth control pills and go on to have healthy babies. I would ask your doctor just to ease your mind, but I think you and your baby will be okay.
By the way, congrats!! This is a wonderful thing! Pregnancy is NOT easy, but it is worth it (at least that is what I keep telling myself)

I'm glad Asking took back the answer. There is no danger to you or baby. Many many women get pregnant while on the pill and they don't know they are pregnant.

Don't worry your pretty little head. All is fine hun.

Is it possible to delete my previous answer? I'm worried about someone else running across it in the future.

I got pregnant with my daughter while I was on birth control...even when I started having pregnancy symptoms such as vomiting and side pain, pregnancy never entered my mind. I went to the doctor, had blood work done, and they said they would call with the results. All this while I was still taking my birth control pills.

By the time they got back to me with the blood work results telling me I was pregnant, I was about 6 weeks pregnant.

My lil girl is almost 6....had a normal pregnancy, normal delivery, and she is perfect

They say if you do not take your birth control pills like regular clockwork you can get pregnant. Some girls think that if they miss one they can double up the next time. It doesn't work that way. Also I know it use to take about a month or so after you first start taking them before they build up to full effect.
