Is the name Rowan okay for a boy and does anyone know a middle name that would go with it?

    Some interesting information
The name "rowan" is derived from the Old Norse name for the tree, raun or rogn. Linguists believe that the Norse name is ultimately derived from a proto-Germanic word *raudnian meaning "getting red" and which referred to the red foliage and red berries in the autumn. Rowan is one of the most familiar wild trees in the British Isles, and has acquired numerous English folk names

Since 1880, a total of 1,402 boys have been given the name Rowan while 0 girls were named Rowan.

I love the name. What is your heritage? Or ethnic group? What about the fathers middle name or your madian name?

I like the name Rowan. It sounds like a real noble name! Very medievil and historical name which I think is great!

And I'm one who likes the idea of maybe the Dads name being the middle name (provided he is around) or even another special male in your life.

They can take on his first or middle names as their middle name.

I have my dads middle name and I think if I have a son one day he will get it too.

    That's just me though!
