baby born out of wedlock

Asked Aug 10, 2012, 11:04 AM — 2 Answers
My child will be born out of wedlock in Illinois, and I was wondering if I could change the last name of the child without the fathers consent, but still have him pay child support?

You can not change his name after he is born and named without fathers permission.
If the child is not born, you may name the child anything you want.
