5 weeks

Hello, this is my first pregnancy. I found out that I am 5 weeks, (3 weeks Gestation)
Does that mean I am already in my 2nd month? or when do I officially begin my 2nd month?
Im kind of confused!
Kellie

Jnkmeiwes, the embryonic heart starts to beat at 21 days gestation, or 5 weeks pregnant. Three weeks gestation is the same as five weeks pregnant. By the end of the third week of gestation (five weeks in menstrual age) the length of the embryo is about 1.5 to 2 millimeters long. You should talk to your doctor if you have any questions regarding your pregnancy.

This site is a new one I found and it might help in learning a little for reassurance. Also, there are sites with the whole stages, such as

www.askdramy.com The U.K. online doctor.you can post on a forum, or 'ask the Dr. Amy' with a click. The FAQ Tab on the homepage is also a good place to click and has a lot of good subject matter. P.S. Most of the articles are printable in PDF format.
Good luck, and keep us posted.

Happy Parenting! And remember first and foremost - always see your doctor!
