My wife had an ultrasound done at 10 weeks and the doctor said everything looked normal, the baby was developing just as she or he should. He as well said that we were out of the danger zone for a miscarriage. My wife has made it to 12 weeks my question is what are the % of having a miscarriage at this point in time?

I had to look this one up. It says that the odds decrease down to between 3 and 5%.
Is your wife high risk?
Try to enjoy the pregnancy as if there are no risks. A person can drive themselves crazy with worry of what could happen.

I have to agree with NW. After the 12th week chances decrease dramatically.

I know you are concerned, and that is okay. But your wife needs your support now, not your fears. It's okay to be fearful, and that is normal when it comes to pregnancy, but unless your wife is in a high risk category then you should be enjoying the pregnancy with her.

Thank's everyone for the great answer, my wife is not at high risk yet so to speak the doctors have put her in the in between stage. Let me explain my wife has had 2 miscarriages in the past year, and she has had many medical difficulties in the last 7 years. She has been diagnosed with lupus (which three doctors agree on, and 4 disagree on), so no one really knows what’s wrong with her.

I will take all the advice and reassure my wife just to stay calm and enjoy life.

One more question, she has been getting really sick in a last week even though the doctors had proscribed her a drug that would take the nausea away. It worked for 6 days and now she is back on the toilet throwing up. I know that is a good thing so to speak but at the same time not really right?

I was not cursed with morning sickness. But, from stories that I have heard, it can hit any time of the day. And it can be pretty unpleasant. If you have talked to your doctor about this and they say it is normal...well, just support her. Be there with a cool cloth when she is getting sick.

I have two friends that were diagnosed with Lupus years ago. They have now moved up North. When going to new doctors (different states) they have discovered its not Lupus, it's a wheat allergy. They have been told that this is a very common mistake when diagnosing Lupus. Not saying this is the case for your wife....but suggest to her to give up wheat products and see if this helps with her "Lupus". Both of them have had no problems since (that is until they decide to have a muffin or such). Just a thought...I'm by far not in the medical profession, I was just reading your post and saw the Lupus note and thought I would share my info with you. I figure you can't hurt yourself trying.

The vomiting can continue for awhile. Some woman have it their entire pregnancy, or have it in the beginning and it goes away then comes back at the end.

I had morning sickness at 3am every morning for about 2-3 weeks, then it switched to mid-day sickness, like noon to 1pm for about 2 weeks. Then I didn't have any.

It varies from woman to woman, just make sure she stays well hydrated.

There is really little that can be done about the vomiting. You see, the nausea and vomiting is caused by an increase in the hormone estrogen during pregnancy. Some women have a slight increase, thus no N/V, yet others have quite a significant increase so the N/V tends to occur. The higher the elevation of the estrogen, the worse and longer lasting the N/V.

If she had 2 prior miscarriages she is probably in the mild to moderate high risk category, however, she has reached that 12 week mark with significantly decreases her risk for miscarriage.
