heat pump installation

i recently purchased a heat pump for my above ground pool. i have an existing time clock for the filter. i want to be able to run the heater/pump together when water temp calls for it, and also run the pump(only) on its regulary scheduled cycle. can this be done, and what do i need.

thanks
paul
