Add this to that:

"Arnold Schwarzenegger has delivered young children into the hands of those who will introduce them to alternative sexual lifestyles," said Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families (CCF), which helped lead the statewide charge against these bills.

"This means children as young as five years old will be mentally molested in school classrooms. Shame on Schwarzenegger and the Democrat politicians for ensuring that every California school becomes a homosexual-bisexual-transsexual indoctrination center."

Yep. There are lots of Republicans who are being caught in scandals in which their moral statements and values do not match their actions. Absolutely true.

On the other hand, the reason that Dems don't get caught in such hypocricy is because they have no morals or values in the first place.

I'd rather live by a set of impossibly high moral standards and occasionally fail to meet them than have no standards at all.

What are your standards, Needkarma?

Elliot

Police don't arrest and prosecute anyone with no morals? Even if they have committed a crime?

Sure they do. YOU and the Democrat party just don't hold them to any sort of standard. So they continue to hold office despite the fact that they have committed crimes.

Harry Reid is a thief who stole money in various real estate scandals in Nevada, and he evaded taxes as well on several of his real estate deals. But he's the Dem Senate Majority Leader.

Bill Jefferson was caught taking bribe money on tape and was found with the money in his freezer. He's still serving as congressman from LA.

Brock Adams, Democratic Senator from Washington State served out his term despite various sexual allegations against him.

Jim Bates, Democrat Congressman from California, was accused of sexual harrasment in 1988, still won his election, and then ran for ANOTHER term after that, despite admitting to the scandal in a letter to the accusers.

Gus Savage, a Democratic Congressman from Illinois, was accused (and eventually found guilty of) trying to force himself on a female Peace Corp worker in Zaire. He was also an avid racist who regularly made anti-Jewish and anti-white statements. He still served out the remaining 3 years of his term despite the sex scandal.

Democrat Barney Frank still serves as the head of the House Financial Services Committee, despite the Steve Gobie escort service scandal... Gobie was convicted of running a "male escort" service out of Frank's home, but Frank claimed not to have known. Frank was "reprimanded" by the House Ethics Committee, but survived censure and dismissal, despite a finding by the committee that Frank knew what was going on the whole time.

Melvin Reynolds, Dem from Ill (who replaced Gus Savage) was accused of sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse of a minor (a 16 year old campaign volunteer). Despite the accusations, he ran for re-election in 1994 and WON. In October 1995, he was found guilty of 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornogaphy. He was subsequently convicted of 15 counts of bank fraud as well. Despite this Bill Clinton commutted his sentence as part of the "pardongate scandal".

Gary Condit, Democrat from CA, was linked to the disappearance of intern Chandra Levy. He still served out his term, maintained his security clearances as part of the House Intelligence committee, and had the chutzpah to run for reelection.

And of course, there's Bill Clinton.

THAT's the difference between how Republicans and Democrats deal with sexual scandals. Republicans resign or are forced out of office by their fellow Republicans because they have standards. Democrats retain their offices and run again because they have no standards.

So again, NeedKarma, I'd rather have high standards that I occasionally fail to meet and take the consequences of that than have NO standards whatsoever. How about you?

Elliot
