Well (punn intended), we finally broke down and decided to look on the market for a new filtration system for our house... we even went as far as calling culligan to give us an apprasial... looking at their system, i am not impressed with the information, and the sales guy was pretty much a sales guy not a technician... right now i'm looking at their pamphlets (which of cours claim they are the best).. but i really would like to know a few other brands out their that do whole house filters...

the components we need must do the following

Softener (salts preferred)
Bacteria Elimination (this can be UV or Clorine)

and possibly a sediment filter (but since we dont have one now, we arent in the pinch to get one now)

anyone know any companies that compete with culligan?
