| Is it the kind the clamps over another line? Even if it isn't, does it have a nut below the handle? If so, shut the water off. If you must shut it off at the maine valve, open a hot water faucet unless you know you have an expansion tank on the hot water heater. You can then remove the nut and the insides of the valve. Apply some penetrating oil or even cooking oil, and see if you can work the handle loose. If not, the clamp style are easy to replace. Check a hardware or home center for one like it. Just unscrew the screws holding it together plus the line to the refrigerator. Fasten the new one in place and turn on the water. |
