    Water pipe burst
    I live in a apartment in my master bedroom a pipe from outside under ground burst into my master bedroom my carpet wall egads are wet from the water what is the effect of this and what does the landlord have to do?:( :( :( :(

    Your landlord should clean up all the water and repair any damage. You should not have to do or pay anything for this.

    The water should be removed and disinfected within 24 hours to avoid mold. Drywall is a perfect food source for mold.

    Where do you live? Do you know if the burst pipe was the one supplying water to your building or was it a city main water line?
