Water coming into tubs, sinks and under toilet
There was a gurgling bubbling sound and then water started flowing from the drains into all three tubs and the kitchen sink. Only one toilet had dirty smelling water coming out from underneath the toilet and floor. I keep coming across articles saying it is the main sewage line and a clog. Is this true and what could I do to help this situation? Is has been almost an hour and it hasn't happened again.

    Hey Texas...

Where you or anyone else using water anywhere in the house/building when this happened? If so, then I'll buy the idea that the main drain is clogged. If not, then I'm thinking that there is a chance that the city/town may be working (may have BEEN working) on the sewer system and may have created a back pressure condition from the sewer cleaning equipment that caused water to flow up and out your system. We see this on occasion, but pretty rare!

Anyway, if using water when this happened then let us know so can discuss options to clear the drain line. If not, call the city/town sewer department and see if they were working in your area when this happened... ;)

    Let us know more...

Yep, you are in the market for a sewer rodder. Do you have a clean out 18" inside or outside the house, start there. Remove the clean out cap slowly in case the clog is downstream and there is pressure built up. When I don't know for sure I drill a 1/8" hole in the cap and have a 1/8" sheet metal screw handy.
