Washing Machines that don't discharge upwards of 23 gallons a minute!

Long story short... maytag has decided to reimburse me in full for all my problems with my SAV series. Turns out they don't make this model anymore... hmmmmm. So the check will be in my hands this week, and now I need to buy another washer. As I only have about $350-$450 to spend that leaves the side loaders out of my reach. One thing worth mentioning is that the maytag repairman said whatever machine I get next time, one thing i should consider is getting a model that doesn't put out 23 gallons a minute during draining or 17rpm's (or whatever the term is). So, I'm hoping to find out there some information, possibly from people with older homes or older plumbing that have had drain issues. Even though my home is newer and I have a 2 inch standpipe, that isn't enough to handle my current maytag, or comparable units for some reason. So has anyone had any luck with GE model number WHRE5260E or Whirlpool LSQ9549P, or other? Most of the info out there has to do with side loaders these days. Also are there brands that I should stay away from? Obviously I don't feel comfortable buying another Maytag.
