I just bought my first house. 1964 brick ranch. Ive washed several loads of laundry and never had a problem. My wife called me today at work and said water was leaking. I checked the washer, hoses, adjatater, etc., nothing. Than I watched it drain and it started to overflow from the pipe it was going into. Pipe is like 3-4' from ground. I took the pipe off and seen nothing visual clogging it. I dont think I have a septic because we are hooked into the city lines. Thats what I was told. So If that is true should I try to snake it or would that helP?? THanks so much for you taking the time to read this.

Snaking the drain line is about the only way to clear it. You may snake from the standpipe and trap or from the washer roof vent. if you come down from the roof put out enough cable to reach the base and 20 feet more. Flush the line out by cycling the washer. good luck, Tom
